Fireworks are out AGAIN! for the on and off again couple of a year and a half. Days after Robin Thicke announced his marital separation, Billboard power couple Katy Perry and John Mayer have broken up.
E! News, quoting an insider, reports that the “I Kissed A Girl” singer, in the last few days, initiated the split from Mayer, her boyfriend of a year-and-a-half, and her first major relationship since the end of her marriage to comic Russell Brand.
The disbanding might come as a surprise to some after Perry, who flew solo on her recent tour of London and Milan, was sporting serious bling last fall, sparking rumors the music-makers had gotten engaged. The couple had broken up nearly a year ago, but quickly reunited.
If nothing else, the musical duo couple leaves behind a highlight reel of romantic moments throughout their red carpet relationship, from their duet on Mayer’s “Who You Love,” to his serenading of Perry during a New York concert last summer.
The break-up marks yet another failed romance for the playboy singing Mayer, who’s dated the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson and Minka Kelly.
