Actress and newly minted talk show hostess Keke Palmer is headed to Broadway. According to published reports Keke will be stepping into the role of Cinderella for “Rogers & Hammerstein’s Ciderella,” starting September 9th at the Broadway Theatre.
The 21-year old beauty will become the first African American actress to take on the role, which will have her donning a glass slipper for eight shows a week.
Keke will take on the role while her BET talk show “Just Keke” is on hiatus. After a successful eight week run the show is expected to be renewed and start airing new episodes in early 2015. The show averaged just over 2 million viewers per episode and featured such high profile guests as Brandy, Queen Latifah, Kevin Hart and Karrueche Tran.
Also on tap for Keke is a stint on the upcoming season of “Masters of Sex,” as well as a starring role in the Drew Barrymore-produced horror flick “Animal.”
