STYLE BREAKDOWN: JENNIFER LOPEZ VEGAS OPENING COSTUMES..VERSACE AND MORE!

Versace, Versace! Jennifer Lopez is ageless—a singing supernova who is unapologetically grown-up, holding her own in a world of pop-star girls who play up their ingenue status—and as of tonight, she will join the iconic ranks of Elvis, Cher, and Prince before her as she embarks on a three-year residency in Las Vegas.

Never afraid of a little sparkle, Lopez brought a shimmying splendor to her performance attire long before she got top billing on the Vegas Strip for her new show, As for last night opening concert, expect nothing less than over-the-top dazzle from the star, who will be wearing three glamorous looks all courtesy of Swarovski and Versace.

Designed by Donatella Versace with help from costumers and stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the looks include a high-slit, plumage-packed gown and a bedazzled take on athleisure—both dotted with the classic Versace medusa emblems.
If there’s anything Jennifer is known for, it’s glamour. We decided to go over the top with a belted Swarovski crystal jacket, adorned in luxe white feathers from head to toe,” said Zangardi. “This is the ultimate Old Hollywood ‘just lounging look.’
And by ‘just lounging,’ we mean exuding all kinds of exaggerated glamour.” Swarovski has embellished the ensembles with nearly 260,000 crystals, in colors ranging from Amethyst to Light Siam and Jet. And those aren’t the only glinting numbers to crunch: It took more than two months and over 1,400 hours to create, along with five Swarovski crystal–mesh panels and 100 feet of Swarovski chains.

But despite all of the glitz, Lopez still stays true to her roots: One outfit is comprised of a crystal-covered hot pink New York Yankees cap, complete with a pair of matching slouchy trousers, bodysuit, and duster jacket—all of which are emblazoned with Bronx.
